The Deep Purple founding guitarist's return to rock was initially said to be only for a handful of dates in 2016, while he took a break from other projects. Earlier this year, however, Blackmore added a shows in the U.K. in June.
Now the guitarist says this latest incarnation of the band he formed with Ronnie James Dio in 1975 has recorded new music and is contemplating in what manner it should be released.
"We were recording until yesterday in the studio at our home," Blackmore told Japanese magazine Burrn! "We recently recorded some songs for Blackmore's Night and two songs with the new singer for Rainbow."
That new singer is Ronnie Romero, who also sings in a band called Lords of Black.
Blackmore's Night is Blackmore's Renaissance-inspired band with his wife, Candice Night.
Blackmore says he's considering releasing the new music as singles, "Rather than make an album." Keep up with him on his Official Facebook page.
