Kurt Cobain's daughter, says no to dad's journals

Frances Bean Cobain is pretty open about her thoughts on her late father, Nirvana frontman and grunge icon Kurt Cobain— outside of discussing his death—but says that she will never read his published journals. She also says that her mother Courtney Love’s decision to publish them in 2002 is “regretful.”

In a new interview with “Irish Independent” at the Museum of Style Icons “Growing Up Kurt Cobain” exhibition, Cobain says while she understands why the journals were published, that the idea of reading them is “too intimate.” She says, “I can’t imagine being dead and having people know my intimate thoughts. What an invasion of privacy. It’s a different thing to get to know him through his art, a deliberate public extension of himself.”
