Lightning Strikes Car Antenna & Blows 7 Foot Gash In Pavement On I-75


Florida is commonly know as the lightning capital of the US. For those who think your vehicle can't get hit by lightning during a Thunderstorm, well maybe not exactly. No, it has nothing to do with the tires.

He was traveling on I-75 near mile marker 30 in Broward county when the bolt came down and WRECKED his car. All electronics shot. That car is basically a paper weight at this point.

The metal of the car acts like a Faraday cage which protects the contents inside. Here's a video to show what is must have been like on a slightly smaller scale.
