Gene Simmons To Teach 'Secrets' Of Bass Playing, Songwriting In Masterclass

KISS co-founder, bassist and vocalist Gene Simmons has announced a special rock 'n' roll master class next month in Las Vegas.

Simmons promises to share with students all he knows about songwriting and bass playing — and to leave them with a signed instrument, made by his own company.

In an announcement, Simmons invited fans to join him "in an intimate private setting, on Saturday, June 26, 2021, in Las Vegas, Nevada, as I teach you and your classmates to play bass and write a song! That's right — we'll be together, on stage.

"You will learn to play bass. You will write a song. You will perform as a band — together."

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer added that the masterclass is open to all — even if you don't know how to play yet, Gene says he'll get you started on the bass in a few hours.

"When I was a kid, I couldn't sit with Paul McCartney and he couldn't teach me all the secrets, but that's what I'm going to do with you. We're going to be serious here; you're actually going to be writing your own song. ...You don't have to read or write music to create music."
